Our Wedding

Our story began in early January of 2024, when we met in person for the first time on a ski date at Mt. Hood Meadows. It was a glorious powder day, and we bonded over our shared love of deep snow and steep slopes. A few days later, we got together for a delicious dinner of braised short ribs and mashed potatoes at the orchard in Hood River. We discovered how many passions we had in common - skiing, gardening, cooking, pets (Maude had just gotten two new kittens, Hops &amp; Barley) and being outside in general, to name a few. We fell in love quickly, and discovered the kind of partnership we both had always hoped for. As we began building a life together on the farm, we added chickens to the dogs and cats, expanded the garden, repainted the interior of the house, and slowly filled this place with our love, quirks, and everyday routines. While we have made the farm our own, we continue to keep Cindy’s spirit and traditions alive. We have hosted multiple Thanksgivings, Christmases, Fourth of July celebrations, and even a family reunion - bringing together the Collins crew, the Graham crew, friends/family from the Hood River community, and more. In so many ways, this farm has continued to be a place of warmth, togetherness, and celebration, and we feel lucky to carry that forward. We both deeply share a spirit of family, community, and hospitality, and love opening our home to our many guests. Ultimately, it’s these shared values and passions, and the partnership we’ve built, that have brought us to where we are today. Maude is working at Geico as a software engineer. Cole ran the harvest solo on the farm this past summer, and works for Mt. Hood Meadows in the winter. We’re excited to continue learning the ins and outs of small business and farm life, to keep skiing, mountain biking, gardening, caring for our ever-growing crew of pets, and continue building a life we love - together.

Heads-Up About Hotel Availability We contacted hotels throughout the area but weren’t able to secure a room block due to another wedding and high demand that weekend. If you plan to stay in a hotel, book as early as possible—Best Western Plus Hood River Inn opens reservations six months in advance, and the Hood River Hotel will release a limited number of rooms during the second week of February. Columbia Gorge Hotel has a full private block and is not releasing rooms to the public at this time. Other options include Horsefeather Hotel, Hood River Adventure Lodge, and chains like Holiday Inn Express. There are also great Airbnb/vacation rentals, and guests are welcome to camp on the farm the night of the wedding.

Located on the Columbia River, this hotel offers accommodations in Hood River. Free Wi-Fi is available in all guest rooms. A flat-screen cable TV is included in each room at the Best Western Plus Hood River Inn. A microwave, coffee-making facilities, and a small fridge are also included. Some rooms boast river views. At Best Western Plus Hood River Inn you will find a private beach area and a fitness center with an indoor spa and sauna. Guests can enjoy a heated outdoor pol and spa open year round. Other facilities offered include meeting facilities, a laundry and vending machine. At Riverside, the on-site restaurant, breakfast, lunch and dinner are also available, offering seasonal menus and an award-winning wine list. Cebu Lounge features sports on flat-screen TVs. Portland Airport is 53 mi away. Mt. Hood Meadows ski elevators are 33 mi away from the hotel.

Best Western Plus Hood River Inn

Offering a ski pass sales point, Hood River Hotel is the oldest hotel in Hood River, Oregon. Guests can enjoy the on-site restaurant, Broder Øst, which serves Scandinavian cuisine. All rooms include a flat-screen TV. Some rooms include a seating area to relax in after a busy day. Certain rooms feature views of the river or city. Each room has a private bathroom. Hood River Hotel features free WiFi throughout the property. There is a 24-hour front desk, a shared lounge with sofas, chairs, large community tables, and a fireplace, and gift shop at the property. A selection of activities are offered in the area, such as skiing, golfing and windsurfing. The nearest airport is Portland International Airport, 53 mi from the property.
